How we compare casino offers

Six criteria, fixed weights, and a rule that we only score what we can check. This page explains each one and shows the scores behind the current ranking.

The six criteria

CriterionWeightWhat we look at
What the offer is worth after caps25%What the offer is worth in pounds for a typical first deposit once caps, spin values and conversion limits are applied. Headline figures count for little on their own.
How clear and fair the terms are25%Whether the significant terms are complete and readable: stated spin values, clear wagering basis, sensible deadlines, and whether your own deposit stays withdrawable.
Cost to get started15%The minimum deposit needed to get the offer. £10 scores higher than £20.
Game range (from what we can verify)15%The size and mix of the lobby, based only on what we can confirm: stated game counts, named titles and studios.
Licence and operator checks10%A current UK Gambling Commission licence, checked on the public register, and a clearly named operator.
Account basics and support10%Account basics we can verify, such as support hours and sign-up checks.

Each criterion gets a mark out of ten. The overall score is the weighted average, rounded to one decimal place. The scores are editorial opinion; they're not a user rating and we don't present them as one.

What we check on every offer

  1. We open the operator's UK landing page and copy the significant terms word for word. We don't paraphrase them next to an offer button.
  2. We look up the operator's account on the Gambling Commission register and link to it from the review.
  3. We work through the wagering with real numbers from the terms, so you can see the target in pounds.
  4. We note anything that limits the value: conversion caps, short deadlines, payment exclusions, max-bet rules.
  5. We re-check the terms whenever the site is updated. The date is shown on each page.

What we leave out, on purpose

Payout speed, because it depends on your payment method, your bank and the casino's checks, and we'd only be guessing. Player-count claims and "awards", because we can't verify them. User star ratings, because we don't collect any. If we can't check something, it doesn't go in the score.

Commission and rankings

All five brands pay us commission. The ranking is our editorial call based on the criteria above, but we'd be kidding you if we said commercial agreements have no bearing on which brands appear on the site at all. They do. That's why the method and the sub-scores are public. See how we make money.
