Privacy policy
What personal data this site handles, why, and what you can ask us to do with it under UK data protection law.
This policy covers Bonus Compass at bonuscompass.co.uk. "We", "us" and "our" mean the people who run Bonus Compass. Questions go to [email protected].
1. The short version
You can read the whole site without telling us who you are. There are no accounts, no forms, no analytics tools and no advertising trackers. The only personal data we handle is standard server logs and any email you choose to send us.
2. What we collect and why
Server logs
Like almost every website, our web server records basic technical details of each request: IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page and the time. We use them to keep the site secure and working, for example to spot attacks or broken links. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). Logs are kept only as long as needed for those purposes and then deleted.
Emails you send us
If you email us, we get your email address, name if you give it, and whatever you write. We use it to reply and to fix anything you've pointed out. Lawful basis: legitimate interests. We keep correspondence while it's relevant and delete it normally within 12 months, unless we need it longer to deal with a legal claim.
Clicking an offer link
Offer buttons go through an affiliate tracking link before reaching the casino. That link records the click so the casino can tell which site referred you and pay us commission. The affiliate network and the casino decide what they collect and are responsible for it under their own privacy policies, which you'll see on their sites. We receive reports with counts of referrals, sign-ups and deposits; we do not receive your name, contact details or account information.
3. What we don't do
- Sell or rent personal data.
- Build profiles or make automated decisions about you.
- Use analytics or advertising cookies (see the cookie policy).
- Knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
4. Who else handles data
Our hosting provider processes server logs on our behalf, and our email provider stores messages sent to us. Both act under contract and only on our instructions. If a supplier handles data outside the UK, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or the approved international data transfer agreement or addendum.
5. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and in some cases receive it in a portable format. Email us and we'll respond within one month. We may need to confirm who you are first. Given how little we hold, the most likely answer is a copy of your email thread.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.
6. Changes
If we add anything that collects more data, such as analytics, we'll update this page before it goes live and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first. The date at the top shows the latest version.
